About MY Project
My name is Natalie Burr and I'm a senior at Newton North High School. This blog records my progress and process as a student participating in the CAPStone Internship project. I am interning at the Massachusetts Historical Society in addition to conducting a research thesis project on Massachusetts history using the libraries and resources I found at the MHS.
My project will be focused on looking into the various careers that are available in the field of history, so the work I will be doing includes creating programs for the public about historic events, writing contextual essays for the MHS website, and conducting research and analyzing documents to be used in exhibits. I will also be conducting a personal research project in order to better understand how academic papers are researched and written. This work will prepare me with a fundamental understanding of historical research and the preservation of the past. In such a historically rich city like Boston, I know that I will be a part of many challenging and fascinating projects.
